Kurt D. Anderson is "Of Counsel" to the firm, and focuses his practice on tort and professional liability matters. In 1987, Mr. Anderson graduated cum laude from Cedarville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. Mr. Anderson earned his Juris Doctor in 1990 from Case Western Reserve University, where he received the "Distinguished Advocate" award. Before joining Janik L.L.P., Mr. Anderson spent 18 years in private practice in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage and commercial litigation. Mr. Anderson is past-treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the Lorain County Bar Association. Mr. Anderson is currently Secretary of the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys ("OACTA"), and was recognized as OACTA’s 2009 Committee Chairman of the Year for his leadership of OACTA's Amicus Curiae committee. Mr. Anderson also serves on the City of Elyria Board of Tax Appeals, at the appointment of the City mayor. Mr. Anderson is admitted to the Ohio Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
